Do You Know There Are Labour Shortages In The Warrnambool Region and The Northern Territory Australia?

Living and working in Australia is a dream for most immigrants who apply for PR, but the strict immigration policy and requirements have made the whole process cumbersome.

Australia’s booming economy,  multi-cultural diversity, quality healthcare, and affordable education has endeared thousands of immigrants who apply for PR in ‘the land Down Under.’

The Australian government in a bid to depopulate migrants concentrations in the major cities of Melbourne and Sydney has introduced a new scheme that will attract migrants to other regions across the country.

Designation Area Migration Agreements (DAMA) is the new scheme aimed at curtailing the increasing labour shortage in regions like Warrnambool region in Victoria and the Northern Territory. This new immigration scheme would aid the social and economic development of these regions, which would inadvertently boost the population.

The new immigration scheme, Designation Area Migration Agreements (DAMA) came into effect on January 1st, 2019. This is good news for low skilled immigrants, who normally would not qualify for PR in other regions to stand a better chance of getting PR in the Warrnambool region and the Northern Territory.

The new Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) agreement is poised to address the labour shortage by relaxing the English language and Income requirements for low skilled immigrants, thereby increasing the immigrant’s chance of gaining permanent residency status in Australia.

The DAMA agreement will empower employers to recruit immigrants with relevant skills to fill vacancies that could not be filled locally.

The New Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner is quoted as saying “The Territory Labor Government’s number one priority is jobs for Territorians but we know access to, and retention of, a suitably skilled workforce is a key issue for many employers and there is a need for additional workers”

The DAMA agreement will continue to boost the proud history of migration of foreigners to Northern Territory, which has had tremendous economic and population growth over the years.

The Department of Immigration has listed the following 117 jobs as a suffering shortage.
